6 Piece Silver Tazza Set By David & George Edward, Sheffield 1909
6 Piece Silver Tazza Set By David & George Edward.
Produced in Sheffield 1909 for what is understood to be Edwards, Glasgow (stamped on the bottom of each tazza).
Each tazza is in fantastic condition for its age and each has the same intricate floral pattern around its edge.
One of the larger tazzas was made by a different Sheffield based silver smith, the Levesley Brothers (Thomas Levesley), in the same year as the other 5 pieces (1909). The piece is also stamped with “Edward Glasgow” but in a different pattern.
Each small tazza measures 16.5cm in diameter at the top, 8.5cm in diameter at the base and 3.5cm in hight. The weight of each one ranges between 301g and 306g.
Each large tazza measures 22cm in diameter at the top, 12cm in diameter at the base and 10.5cm in height. Each large tazza weighs 563g and 578g.
